JIEKOU Street

JIEKOU street is the seat of Conghua district government and the political, economic and cultural center of Conghua district. It is located in the central and southern part of Conghua District, 56 kilometers away from Guangzhou City in the south, bordering Jiangpu street and Taiping Town in the southeast and Chengjiao street in the northwest.

Administrative area: 21.84 square kilometers, population: 96846 (2010). At the beginning of 2004, JIEKOU was the urban area of Conghua district.

Now JIEKOU sub district office has jurisdiction over 9 villagers' committees (Xiongfeng, Chengnan, JIEKOU, tuanxing, Chengjiao, chicao, dawao, Shabei, Shitan), 16 community residents' committees (Dongcheng, Xining, Xincun, Zhen'an, Fuqian, Fengyi, Zhongtian, Chengnei, Xincheng, Qingyun, Yuning, Bixi, Liyuan, Chengxi, Yiquan, hebinnan), and covers a wide area It has a total area of 21.84 square kilometers and a total population of 96846 (in 2010).

Historical relics

JIEKOU has a long history. In 1494, JIEKOU was the seat of Conghua County, with a history of more than 500 years. Confucius Temple in Conghua middle school is a large-scale and well preserved ancient building of Ming Dynasty. Songbai hall and Huang's Xixi ancestral temple in tuanxing village are the first batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangzhou. Rich cultural relics show the rich cultural heritage of the street.

The urban area is open and flat, surrounded by the famous Yuntai Mountain, Shuangfeng Mountain, Fengyun mountain and Pingding Mountain. The clear Liuxi River, Xiaohai River and nitang River converge under the Wenfeng tower, forming the beautiful scenery of "Three Rivers embracing one city".
