Xixi town

Xixi town is under the jurisdiction of Luxi County, Hunan Province. It is located in the middle of Luxi County, 22 kilometers away from Luxi County, 60 kilometers away from Jishou, north of paixian township of Jishou City, Hepeng township of Guzhang County, shanzao township of Guzhang County and Wusuo township of Yuanling County, west of baiyangxi Township, south of Pushi Town, east of Wuxi town. National Highway 319, Donghe and Changji Expressway pass through the town, so the traffic is very convenient.

General situation

After the adjustment of administrative divisions, liangjiatan and bashiping towns were merged into Xixi town. The town covers an area of 298.01 square kilometers (2017), which is the largest town in the county, with a cultivated area of 3282.4 hectares, including 3065.66 hectares of paddy field and 7280.89 hectares of forest. The terrain is high in the north and South and low in the middle, with the highest altitude of 633 meters in Ma'anshan. Xixi town governs 24 villages (communities), with a total of 32500 people (in 2017). The Miao and Tujia ethnic groups account for 92% of the total population. They are the major towns inhabited by ethnic minorities and the third most populous town in the county.

Historical evolution

Luxi County governs towns. It belonged to he'an Township in 1949, four districts in 1950, Xixi Township in 1956, Xixi commune in 1958 and town in 1984. In 2015, liangjiatan Township and bashiping Township were merged into Xixi town!

Industrial Development

Ponkan industry is the economic pillar industry of the town. In 2010, the total output of Ponkan in the town was 19 million jin, and the sales volume reached 95%. Rice is the main agricultural crop. In 2006, there were 598 hectares of cultivated land, a total population of 12754 and 3260 households, including 11050 agricultural population, a GDP of 67.94 million yuan, a total agricultural output value (current price) of 24.73 million yuan, a total grain output of 3398 tons, and a per capita net income of 2073 yuan. In 2016, the total agricultural output value of Xixi town was 192.75 million yuan, an increase of 3.5% over the previous year, and the total grain output was 11789 tons, an annual increase of 1.6%. Ponkan is the pillar industry of the town, with a total area of 3733.3 hectares, a fruit bearing area of 2624.6 hectares and an output of 34065 tons. There are 3065.66 hectares of rice, 1275 hectares of corn, 845.90 hectares of paddy field, 400 hectares of rape and 317 hectares of vegetables. The per capita disposable income of farmers is 5816 yuan. < br > in terms of industrial construction, 66.6 hectares of standard Park was established, 913.3 hectares of Ponkan cultivation and management were completed, 370 mu of Ponkan land was transferred, 7 new Ponkan standard warehouses were built, 4700 meters of working roads were built in the standard Park, and 65 new collecting pools were built. 105 tons of fertilizer and 1500 pieces of pesticide were distributed free of charge, 320 person times of Ponkan technical training and more than 3000 copies of training materials were distributed throughout the year. Efforts should be made to support the construction of five industrial bases, namely, 13.3 hectares of pollution-free vegetable base in dengjiaping village, 1500 mu of Alpine grape base in dongdiping village and community tofu processing. With the development of aquaculture industry, there are 500 net cages in nengxihe reservoir of nengtan village and 600 mu of fish in SANJIAOTAN. In langmuxi, dujiazhai, jizitan, liangjiatan, Liyan and dengyouping villages, there are 6 new large cattle farmers, raising 660 Xiangxi yellow cattle. In addition, we will support songjiazhai village and Liyan village to develop goat and layer breeding, and initially form a "one village, one product" industrial development pattern.
