Jishou City governs the township. It was divided into two or three districts in 1949, merged into Longwu Township in 1956, set up Yuejin commune in 1958, and changed to Jilue Township in 1984. Located in the northwest of the city, with an area of 79.2 square kilometers and a population of 7700, it is a Miao inhabited township. The township government is in charge of dragon dance. There are roads to the city. It has jurisdiction over 11 village committees: Jilue, Hongping, lianlin, Longwu, Jielian, Ziqiang, Ronghua, Qiuchan, zhuangtuo, Jiantai and Guzhe. Rice is the main agricultural product. Township enterprises have processing, transportation and other industries. There are vanadium mines in the territory. Miao people are good at singing and dancing. Every autumn, there is a regular "catch up with autumn" song and dance meeting.
