Gangshang town

Gangshang town is located in the southwest of Nanchang County, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, with Silver Triangle overpass in the north, Liantang and Xiaolan Industrial Park in the county, Xiangtang Provincial Development Zone in the East and Ganjiang golden waterway in the West.

It has jurisdiction over Gangshang street, Shicha street and wanshe street, and 12 administrative villages including Changhu, Xingnong, canshi, Shihu, quhu, Jin'an, Gangshang, Anren, Heshan, Dongtan, wanshe and Huangtai.

In 2017, the administrative area was 9822 hectares, with a permanent population of 42703. On May 26, 2020, Gangshang town was selected into the list of strong agricultural towns in 2020.

Historical evolution

It belonged to Xiangtang District in 1956, Chaoying commune in 1958, Gangshang commune in 1968, township in 1984 and town in 1995.

Gangshang is 15 kilometers to Nanchang City, only 3 kilometers to the West from the largest railway freight marshalling station in the south of the Yangtze River. From here, you can drive 40 minutes to Changbei Airport; National Highway 105 and Wenhou Expressway pass through the territory, connecting National Highway 316, Changzhang and Wenli expressways, forming a "three vertical and three horizontal" highway network with the main roads in the territory, which highlights the traffic location advantages.

Economics

Gangshang town has guashan enterprise demonstration area and Xingnong leisure resort. Gangshang is an important goose and duck breeding base in the province, with an annual output of 1.5 million meat ducks and an annual processing capacity of 500000 salted ducks. With an annual output of 1 million meat geese, it is one of the three major geese supply bases in China. In the process of agricultural industrialization, four bases of flowers, geese and ducks, vegetables and aquatic products have been formed. Geese and ducks (salted duck), garlic, leeks, tofu and other products are well-known inside and outside the province. The industry has formed such industries as construction, leather, ice making, clothing, chemical industry, machinery, lighting, food and beverage, poultry and egg, agricultural and sideline products processing, etc. on May 26, 2020, Gangshang town was selected into the list of strong agricultural towns in 2020.

Gangshang town is known as "the hometown of culture" and "the hometown of talents". According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 300 okamori professors in China, and more than 10 in Beijing alone. Xiong's village in Yuechi is a famous "Professor village" in China. Xiong Yuxi, a famous patriotic educator in modern China, and Xiong Guangkai, general and deputy chief of the general staff of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, are from this village. Canshi Wujia village is a famous ancient village. Here are the former site of Xinyuan middle school, the first modern education school in Jiangxi Province, and Han street, an important ancient wharf city on the Ganjiang River. Xiong yuane, the founder of Nanchang No.2 Middle School (yuanxinyuan middle school), who is famous both inside and outside the province, is from here.
