Shuidongdi town

Shuidongdi town is located in the southwest of Louxing District, Loudi City, with an elevation of 109-223 meters above sea level. It belongs to hilly terrain, with an annual rainfall of 1200-1300 mm, an annual average temperature of 16 ℃, and the annual dominant wind is southeast wind.

On February 14, 2017, Shuidongdi town was under the jurisdiction of Louxing District of Loudi City from Lianyuan city.

brief introduction

It borders Baimu Township in the East, Hetang Town in the south, Yangshi town in the West and Doulishan town in the north, with a total area of 82 square kilometers (2017) and a population of 42872 (2017). the town is rich in mineral resources, such as coal, copper, iron, naphthalene, etc. Shuidongdi town is Gujin Town, with tongguzhai site and Shizishan stone city ancient battlefield site.

Historical evolution

Before the founding of new China, Shuidongdi town belonged to Qingxi Township, Xiangxiang county. After the founding of new China, it was a part of Zhujiao, Yangjiao and Chetian townships, the Tenth District of Xiangxiang county. after the establishment of the county, it belongs to the 12th district of Lianyuan county. in 1956 for the Red Soil Township. In 1958, it was part of Shuidongdi commune. In 1961, a new Shuidongdi commune was established. In 1984, with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's government, Shuidongdi commune was changed into Shuidongdi town. In 1994, Shuidongdi town was merged with Xinhe Town to establish a new Shuidongdi town. on February 14, 2017, Shuidongdi town was under the jurisdiction of Louxing District of Loudi City from Lianyuan city.

Yangcai mountain: Yangcai mountain is located in the southeast of Shuidongdi Town, Louxing District, Loudi City. The "Zijin Temple" on the mountain is a precious historical and cultural heritage. Ziyun peak of Yangcai mountain is the 19th peak of Hengshan Mountain. As early as the Zhenguan Era of Tang Dynasty, two temples of "Zijin Temple" were built.
