Tongwan town
Tongwan Town, located on both sides of Yuanjiang River in the eastern half of Zhongfang County, is the economic and cultural center in the eastern part of Zhongfang county. The people's Government of the town was stationed in Tongwan. Tongan village was established in Song Dynasty and Tongwan village in Qing Dynasty. Tongwan town was established in 1953, Tongwan Township in 1956 and Tongwan commune in 1958. In 1984, he returned to his hometown and set up a town in the same year. It mainly produces rice, citrus, Camellia oleifera and wood. There are agricultural and sideline products processing, farm tools, pottery and other factories. There is a Polder, which is an important market in the east of the city. The highway connects Huaihua City and Yuanjiang River. It is connected with Xinjian and Xiaping in the west, xinluhe and Yuanjia in the south, and Longchang and Tongding in the north. The town covers a total area of 97.67 square kilometers (2017), and has jurisdiction over 23 villages including Xinghua, shuiluoan, Huangxi, maxijiang, dujiangpo, Hecun, Dayantou, Siping, duizi, Xinwu, Songpo, zhuyuantou, Sancha, sanjiatian and feijiatian, and 2 neighborhood committees including shaluowan and Xinglong Street, with a total population of 22530 (2017). Tongwan hydropower station, with a total investment of 1.68 billion yuan, started construction in 2004. There are black bone chicken and Tongwan river fish, the main food crops are rice, poultry and livestock are mainly raising chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, cattle and sheep, and the planting industry is mainly orange, peach and pear. Computer and English education have been popularized in primary schools. The teachers in middle schools are strong and the teaching quality is good. There is a central health center in the town, covering an area of 7400 square meters, with 75 doctors and nurses, 40 beds, 13 village clinics and 13 doctors. History and culture
the town's farmers are hardworking and the people are honest. The residents in the town were originally ethnic minorities, and later Han people from song, yuan and Ming Dynasty migrated here from Jiangxi. The main surnames are Zhou, Yang, Liao and Qu, among which Zhou and yang are the main ones, accounting for 75% of the town. They are mainly distributed in feijiatian, Dayantou, shuiluoan, Shancha, Siping, Huangxi and zhuyuantou villages. The vast majority of the people in the territory love singing folk songs, Bawangbian and other traditional literature and art. After nearly a year of exploration and development, Huangxi scenic spot was officially opened to the outside world on May Day in 2004, receiving more than 50000 tourists annually, and has become a hot spot in the surrounding areas.
