Menlouxia Yao nationality township is a nationality township under the jurisdiction of Xintian County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. It is located on the northern edge of Xintian County. It covers an area of 127 square kilometers and governs 20 administrative villages with a population of 8668.

Menlouxia Yao township is an ethnic township under the jurisdiction of Xintian County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. Menlouxia Yao township is located in the northern edge of Xintian County, adjacent to Yangliu Yao Township, Guiyang County, Chenzhou City, Manzhu Yao Township, Changning City, Hengyang City, and shaibeitan Yao Township, Qiyang County in the North, Jinling County in the East, Jicun town and Longquan town in the southwest. The township government is located in menlouxia village, 20 kilometers away from Longquan town. The township covers an area of 127 square kilometers.

The Yao nationality township under the gate tower has 20 village committees, 118 villager groups and 328 natural villages under the jurisdiction of gate tower, libeikeng, qitouling, shangliyuan, qingpiyuan, xiaoqiaoling, Changtian, xiaoshuigang, daqibian, zhulinping, caotouyuan, Majia, gaodaiyuan, Lutang, nitang, Liujia, fengshujiao, sheziyuan, santangyuan and Aobei.

Historical evolution

Before liberation, part of the Yao nationality township under the gate belonged to Renzhi Township and part to Chongyi township. In the early days of liberation, it was under the management of district one and district two. Menlouxia nationality township was established in November 1956, renamed as Tuanjie people's commune in September 1958, and menlouxia commune from 1968 to 1981. In January 1982, the people's commune of the Yao Nationality under the gate was established. In 1984, it was changed into the system of the Yao nationality township.

The mountainous area is 1908700 mu, and the forest coverage rate is 85%. Jiufeng Mountain and tianqiling mountain are 985 meters high. There are 33 streams in the township, which flow into the Xiangjiang River after converging in the main rivers of Xintian County, Chongling River and Lutang river. The annual average temperature is 16-17 ℃, the frost free period is about 250 days, and the annual average rainfall is 1500-1900 mm.
