Fuqiushan Township, belonging to Taojiang County, Yiyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the east of Taojiang County, adjacent to Taohuajiang town and niutanhe town in the East, Gaoqiao Town in the south, Shuikoushan town in the West and Xiushan town in the north. It has jurisdiction over 26 administrative villages, with a total area of 122 square kilometers (2017), and the existing cultivated land area is 1.742 thousand hectares, with a population of 46847 (2017).

The rural area belongs to the subtropical continental monsoon humid climate with short cold period in winter and long hot period in summer. Fuqiu mountain, mingshitan, "yinxinshiwu", cliff carvings and other scenic spots are located in the township. Among them, Fuqiu mountain is a famous mountain in the south of Chu, with an altitude of 752.4 meters. It has undulating peaks and stands on one side. There is Fuqiu temple on the top of the mountain, as well as wind tunnel, toothed stone, Feilai Shiwu, dantai, Jingquan, Longdong, Shidong and other cultural relics. Mingshitan is located in renxingshan. In the early Qing Dynasty, Guo Chunzhen, a county poetess, built a water Pavilion here. Near mingshitan, there stands a huge granite, 5.1 meters long and 2.1 meters high. It is engraved with the four characters of "yinxinshiwu" in regular script, neat and square.
economic development
The agriculture of the township is mainly rice production. Through vigorously adjusting the agricultural industrial structure, the following major agricultural bases have been formed: Seedling and flowers, vegetables, Phyllostachys pubescens, Pueraria lobata, grapes, edible fungi bases, etc. The main agricultural products are: bamboo, vegetables, tea, etc. The township industry is mainly granite production, environmental protection unburned brick project, agricultural machinery farming boat production. People's living standards have been gradually improved. In 2003, the per capita net income of farmers reached 1598 yuan.
Forestry development
Fuqiu Mountain National Forest Farm is located at the top of Fuqiu mountain, a lonely mountain in the middle of Taojiang County. The traffic is extremely inconvenient, so far there is no road or telephone. The highest elevation of the forest farm is 752.4 meters, and the lowest elevation is 365 meters. The mountain slope is steep, generally between 25 and 30 degrees. The parent rock and material in the territory are mountain yellow soil developed from slate shale, which belongs to the mid subtropical humid climate of continental monsoon. The annual average temperature is about 14 ℃, the annual precipitation is about 1600 mm, and the frost free period is about 260 days. There are more than 400 species of woody plants in the forest farm. There are more than 40 species of timber forests, such as Cunninghamia lanceolata, Phyllostachys pubescens, Pinus massoniana, Sassafras Sassafras, Cryptomeria fortunei, 16 species of Ginkgo biloba, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, and more than 20 species of precious wild animals, such as leopard cat, pangolin, bamboo rat, five step snake, Xiangyang, owl, etc. The state-owned forest covers an area of 1644 mu, including 1640 mu of woodland. All of them are state-level ecological public welfare forests, with a forest volume of 9640 cubic meters. The forest types are mainly Cunninghamia lanceolata, plantation and Phyllostachys pubescens. The forest farm is classified as an ecological public welfare forest farm with a total population of 78 and 33 employees, including 5 retired employees. In 2006, 200 mu of afforestation, 100 mu of young forest tending and 600 mu of bamboo forest reclamation were completed.
