Luotaping township is located in the southwest of Yongding District, 56 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Wentang town in the East and qinganping Township in the north. The township has a total area of 85.29 square kilometers (2017), 131784.3 mu, including 16000 mu of arable land.
