Zhihedu town is located in the southeast of the county, connecting Chengguan town in the west, Qianlianghu town in Junshan District in the East, sanfengsi town and Shengfeng Township in the north, Huarong River in the south, Zhongnan Township and Hucheng Township across the river. Before liberation, it belonged to Banqiao township. After liberation, it belonged to Runde, huangpeng, Zinan, Dengying and Fangcheng five townships in the first district. In 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into PanJiaDu township. The township government was stationed in PanJiaDu. It belonged to Huayi commune in 1958, and Panjia commune was established in 1961. In 1984, the township was changed. In 1993, the township government moved to zhihedu Town, which was named zhihedu town. In 1996, it covers an area of 49 square kilometers and has a population of 25000. It has jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees of Hongguang and zhihedu, and 14 administrative villages of Xingguang, Minzhu, yueyuehu, hetouwan, Dengyin, Xuehui, Xiagao and Shanggao, as well as Huanglian, Hongxing, Panjia, Zhihe, Runde and jinghutang. Industrial economy

Zhihedu town mainly produces vegetables, rice, cotton, pigs, poultry, southern catfish and other agricultural products. In 2000, the town produced 79800 tons of vegetables, 13349 tons of rice, 1721 tons of cotton, 34200 live pigs, 670000 poultry and 850 tons of southern catfish. "Panjiada pepper", a high-quality late maturing pepper variety bred by the town for many years, enjoys a high reputation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and sells well all over the country. In 2000, the planting area reached 15000 Mu and the total output was 32500 tons.

By the end of 2003, zhihedu town had complete water, electricity, road, communication and other infrastructure facilities, and gradually improved its service functions of education, health and environmental protection. By the end of 2003, a water supply plant with a daily output of 1400 tons had been built, with 95% of telephone users and 100% of cable TV users. A high standard cement street of 1.5 km had been built. There are 1 middle school, 1 Central Primary School, 3 kindergartens and 1 health center.
