Human history
Wawutang has a long history. It belongs to Huizhou in the Tang Dynasty. It was named Shizhu in the Ming Dynasty and later changed to Suining. It was built in 1956 and has been followed up to now. Eight ethnic groups, including Han, Miao, Dong, Yao, Tujia, Shui, Bai and Hui, live together in the territory, of which ethnic minorities account for 50.6% of the total population.
