Huochangping town is located in the middle of Shaodong City, bordering Yangqiao town and shetianqiao town in the East, yejiping town and jianjialong Township in the south, Xiancha town and zhouguanqiao Township in the west, Shashi Town and liuguangling town in the north. Historical evolution

In the early days of the people's Republic of China, huochangping town was subordinate to the twelve districts of Shaoyang County. After the establishment of Shaodong county in February 1952, it was subordinate to Shaodong county. Huochangping district was divided into huochangping District in 1955 and merged with Township in 1956. Huochangping office was established in 1957 and huochangping people's commune was established in 1985. After the restoration of district governance in 1961, huochangping was subordinate to liuguangling District, and changed to tangxiaqiao District in 1966. After the withdrawal of district and merging with Township in 1995, longgongqiao township was merged into huochangping town.
