Northford Observatory is located on a hill on the side of the Hong Kong Observatory. The terrain is relatively high and hidden. Vehicles can not pass through it. The streets are equipped with chairs for bars and restaurants.

There are many exotic restaurants in Northford terrace, which offer special dishes from Turkey, Russia and Japan, as well as exotic performances such as belly dance. It is very prosperous from night to early morning, similar to SOHO district and Lan Kwai Fong on Hong Kong Island. However, compared with Lan Kwai Fong, some bars are more popular and localized. There are also many special restaurants in the Northford terrace on the side of Northford terrace, which are connected with Meihua shopping mall by stairs.

Northford terrace was built in the late 19th century with 16 European style villas.
