famous scenery
Yishan temple is a key cultural relic protection unit in Hengyang County, located at the north end of Yishan village, Shanqiao Town, Hengyang County. It is one of the 100 famous temples in China, with a history of more than 1700 years. Yishan was the place where Huan Yi lived in seclusion with his father in the Eastern Jin Dynasty when he was young. He studied martial arts and was granted military strategy. When he was an adult, he and Xie Xuan defeated the Qin army and achieved the "battle of Feishui". He was granted the title of right general and right prime minister by the king of Jin. After that, he retired to Yishan, stroked the flute and sang the plum blossom, and made the famous classical song "three lanes of plum blossom". After his death, Wang Kai, the Prime Minister of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, built a temple in Yishan to commemorate Huan Yi and named it Yishan temple. The temple was rebuilt in the Song Dynasty and expanded again in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 5000 square meters. The main scenic spots are eight scenes of Yishan mountain: yunjinfeng, nongdilou, countercurrent cave, qianseng pagoda, Qinglong bridge, Cuiying Pavilion, reading platform and shuangfengjing. There are thousands of people's bells and thousands of people's pots (destroyed in 1958) in the historic sites. Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty granted the "imperial plaque" - Jingde temple.
