Historical evolution
In the Southern Song Dynasty, the post road from Liling to Changsha was opened. Along the way, there were "five li and one pier, ten li and one shop". At that time, there was a shop in Huangliang (located in the upper section of the road in today's zhuhuashan Village). Therefore, there was a forest of fir trees in the area. The shops in the post station were all built with wooden boards as walls, and the fir bark was used as tiles, so it was called Banshanpu. From 1899 to 1905, after the construction of Zhuzhou Pinghua railway, Han Yeping company set up a station called Banshanpu station. From then on, the name of "huangliangjing" gradually disappeared, and the name of "Banshanpu" was once again called Kai, so the township was also called Banshanpu. In 1984, Banshan township was established. The original babuqiao Township belonged to the eighth District in 1950, the fourteenth District in 1951, babuqiao Township in 1956, huangdazui commune in 1958 and babuqiao commune in 1961. In 1984, the township was restored. In 2005, the former Banshan township (excluding four villages including hengtangji), babuqiao Township and the former zhuanbu Township were merged to establish a new Banshan township; the former Banshan township's four villages including hengtangji, Gaojiadian, shitangan and wujiaduan were included in huangniao street. In 2015, Zhuhu and Zhangyu villages in Banshan Township were transferred to guoci Street office, and Banshan township was upgraded to Banshan town.
