Wanfudian Town, or wanfudian farm, was founded in February 1958 as the cadre farm of Xiangyang administration. It was composed of 1027 cadres from the units directly under the administration, suixian County, Danjiang water conservancy engineering office, Wuhan military region and other units. After three times of expansion, it was renamed as "state-owned wanfudian farm of Hubei Province" in March 1964, which is one of the farms directly under Hubei Province.
