Chongxian Township

Chongxian Township, a town under the jurisdiction of Xinfeng County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest of Xinfeng County, adjacent to TieShiKou town and Xiaojiang town in the East. It is connected with QUANNAN county and Nanxiong County of Guangdong Province in the southwest and Wanlong township of the county in the north. Jiangxi Guangdong Expressway passes through the territory, 56 kilometers away from the county seat, 10 kilometers away from the national highway, and Taojiang river passes through the whole territory. Water and land transportation is very convenient. Chongxian neighborhood committee, 14 village committees including Chongxian, yuankeng, Luotang, Zhaixia, Shankeng, Shanba, Xishui, Jingtou, Dongshui, Laolong, Yinqiao, Qiaotou, denggang and bushe, 156 natural villages with 20596 people are under the jurisdiction of the township (2010).

Chongxian Township covers an area of 114 square kilometers, including 804 hectares of arable land. The cultivated land is 7979 hectares, and the GDP of the township is 6.31 million yuan at the end of 2004. The per capita net income of farmers is 2615 yuan. The land is fertile and the climate is pleasant. Kaolin is the main mineral. The main agricultural products are navel orange, chestnut, gingko, bamboo forest, cocoon, watermelon, pepper, yam, etc.

Historical evolution

Chongxian township is named after chongxianwei. On the eve of liberation, it was Chongxian township. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to denggang township of Chongxian. Chongxian commune was established in 1958, and it belonged to Chongxian Township in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 141 square kilometers and has a population of 19000. It governs 14 administrative villages including Chongxian, Shanba, denggang, Jingtou, Qiaotou, bushe, Xishui, yuankeng, Laolong, Yinqiao, Dongshui, Zhaixia, Luotang and Shankeng. The township government is stationed in chongxianwei.

Agricultural specialty

Chongxian township has fertile land and rich agricultural products. It is rich in bamboo, chestnut, almond and cocoon, and mulberry cultivation is a pillar industry of Chongxian. The area of sericulture reaches 2000 mu, with an average income of 2100 yuan per mu.

Industry

Chongxian township has convenient transportation, water and land transportation. Through 19 kilometers of cement road from the government's residence and polder town to national highway 105, a large number of timber and other materials can be transported to other places by ship. The township is adjacent to a province and three counties, with superior location. Taojiang hydropower station was officially built in August 2006 with a reservoir capacity of 37.1 million cubic meters and an installed capacity of 25000 kilowatts. It is the fourth largest hydropower station in Ganzhou city with a total investment of 190 million yuan. It is also the largest investment project in Xinfeng County!
