Huanggaihu town

Huanggai lake is located on the South Bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River at the junction of Hunan and Hubei in the northwest of Chibi City, 35 kilometers away from Chibi City and 9.5 kilometers away from the "battle of Chibi" scenic spot. In February 2002, huanggaihu farm was transferred to Chibi City for management. in December 2004, with the approval of Chibi municipal Party committee and municipal government, huanggaihu management zone of Chibi City was established, and the management and operation mode of "two brands and one team" was implemented with huanggaihu farm. on January 16, 2008, huanggaihu town was officially established, with a total population of 12000. as of 2017, the town (township) has an administrative area of 28.4 square kilometers and a permanent population of 8143.
