Qingtaiguan Forest Farm

Qingtaiguan forest farm is located in Luotian County

North of qingtaiguan forest farm. It is connected with Tiantangzhai, the main peak of Dabie Mountain in the East, sanshenao forest farm, the largest collective forest farm in Eastern Hubei in the west, Jinzhai County in Anhui in the north and Jiuzihe town in the south. The total area is more than 16000 mu.

There are 13000 mu of mountain forest in the scenic area. Among the trees mainly composed of pine and fir, there are also some valuable trees such as Pinus armandii, pipa, Ginkgo biloba, Conan, and a large number of ornamental plants such as Rhododendron fortunei, Rhododendron flavescens, Euonymus microphylla, red and baiyingshanhong. Its unique geographical environment and natural landscape determine the superior tourism and summer conditions of the forest farm.

Qingtai pass

Qingtai pass is one of the eight famous passes in Luotian, with an altitude of 1092 meters. It is located at the junction of Hubei and Anhui in the north of the scenic area. It used to be an important key of Wutou and Chuwei. Because the stone walls of the pass are covered with moss, it gets its name. There is an ancient city in the pass, which is called the "old city" among the people. The tower is 20 meters high and the wall is 10 meters high and 3 meters wide. With the tower as the center, the wall extends more than 500 meters to the left and right to the cliff peak. From the forest farm to the green moss pass is a long gorge, about kilometers away from the pass. There is a stone city built by the 25th Route Army of the former Kuomintang in 1936-1937, which is called "new city" by the people. With the help of the new city, the enemy from the north can be blocked on the top, and the enemy from the South can be resisted on the bottom. In the winter of 1942, when the Japanese invaders invaded the Dabie Mountains, the Japanese army who tried to cross the border and enter Anhui was deterred by the "new city" and then entered Anhui by wengmen pass. Qingtai ancient pass was demolished in 1992 when the inter provincial highway to Anhui was built, and it is now under repair.
