Xihe Town, Xiaonan District

Xihe town is located in the north east of Xiaogan City, 10 kilometers away from the city. It faces Yangdian town across the river in the East, zougang town of Xiaochang County in the north, Xinpu town in the West and Sancha town in the south. Xihepu, the town government's residence, is located at the intersection of Huangxiao road and Xizou road. Originally named xifengpu, it was built in 1915. More than 100 years ago, a "Lingguan Temple" was built in xifengpu. In the Qing Dynasty, in order to make it convenient for students to go to Beijing for examinations and official errands to deliver official documents, a shop was set up here. Because there was a small river in the west, it was named "xihepu" and a market was set up.

Historical evolution

Xihe town was Liuhe Township, Zhaigang Township and Tongxing Township in Pengxing District, Anren Township and xiele Township in zougang District in 1950. In 1955, it was merged into three townships, namely Zhaigang, Wugui and xiele, under the jurisdiction of zougang district. In 1958, when the people's commune was transformed, Zhaigang township was renamed Xihe commune, Wugui township was renamed Wugui commune, and xielexiang was under the jurisdiction of Yangdian District, known as daodian commune. In 1975, Xihe commune and Wugui commune in zougang District, daodian commune in Yangdian district and Honglian brigade in caozhan commune in Zhuzhan district were merged into Xihe people's commune. When the district was established in 1984, Xihe commune was incorporated into zougang district. When the district was withdrawn and the township was established in 1987, Lihe town was established. the town governs 26 villages, three management areas, Xihe management area, daodian management area and Wugui management area. In 1992, anpingmiao forest and fruit farm was added and four villages were under its jurisdiction. In 2002, anpingmiao forest and fruit farm was abolished and three management areas were restored. After the system reform, six general branches (four rural general branches and two organ general branches) were set up. Agriculture
