Majiadu town belongs to Zhushan County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province. It is located in the east of 105 ° 51 ′ - 110 ° 08 ′, north of 32 ° 11 ′ - 32 ° 32 ′, east of overflow, west of Baofeng, south of Zhuxi County River and north of Shuangtai. The town government is located in dianzijie village, with a population of 30163 (2017) and an area of 204.86 square kilometers (2017). It has 20 villages and 90 villager groups under its jurisdiction. Majiadu town is known as "the granary in the west of Zhushan" and "the hometown of gems in Qinba" for its developed agriculture and prosperous Turquoise processing trade. Provincial Road 305 passes through the town.

History and culture

Majiadu town has a long history. It is said that in ancient times, the forest was dense and the river was wide. There was a man surnamed Ma who had been ferrying here for generations as a boatman. He was called majiadu, and later gradually evolved into majiadu. Tianqiao mountain, 1km west of the town, namely (Shangyong mountain) Nuwa mountain, is said to be the original site of Fuxi Nuwa's creation. On the top of the mountain stands an 8-character Yinti Chinese stone tablet, which is 9.02 feet tall, 3 feet wide and 5 feet long. It is the site of the eight old scenes of Zhushan in history - "green lock of Wa mountain". Shi Jiawan, guihuashu village, is the birthplace of Shi Yang, an early member of the Communist Party of China and the leader of the February 7th labor movement. At the foot of Mt. Notre Dame in the town, there are jiaolongguanshi ruins, with magnificent murals and numerous stone Buddhas, as well as beautiful natural landscapes such as Xiangshuitan and lianhuaan. There is a famous tomb site of Chu Zi in the southeast of the town.

Majiadu Turquoise Processing Co., Ltd., a Sino US joint venture Turquoise processing enterprise, has become the largest foreign exchange earner of private enterprises in the county for three consecutive years. Zhushan longfu Mining Co., Ltd. has successfully settled down with an investment of 15 million yuan, which will build a new force for the development of mineral resources in Zhushan County.
