Chayashan town is located 25 kilometers west of Suiping county. It is a hilly area. It borders Yushan Town in the East, Wugang City in Pingdingshan in the west, Huazhuang Township in the South and Huaishu Township in the north. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages and 113 natural villages with a total population of 28000. The town has a total area of 116 square kilometers, including 45000 mu of basic farmland, 6000 mu of general agricultural land and 8000 mu of construction land; the town has a planned area of 1.87 square kilometers, a built-up area of 1.15 square kilometers and a resident population of 8000. Chayashan town is the birthplace of the first people's commune in China. It has the former site of chayashan satellite people's commune, a national key cultural relic protection unit, 5A chayashan scenic spot, chayashan hot spring town, Hongshiya scenic spot, Shixiang Lake Reservoir Scenic Spot and other major scenic spots.
