Liji town

Liji town is a township in the southeast of Gushi County, Henan Province, 27 km away from Gushi city and 69 km away from Sanhejian, an important industrial town, with an area of 152 square kilometers (2017). Liji town is adjacent to Anhui Province in the East and Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. It is located between wutouchuwei and Jianghuai. National Highway 312 runs through the whole area in a northwest southeast syncline. It is the only way from the central and western regions to the eastern developed areas and the frontier of "leading from the east to the west". It is the southeast gate and border window of Henan Province.

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association confirmed Liji town as a national health Township in 2019.

Liji district was established in 1949, township was changed in 1956, Jiefang commune was established in 1958, Liji commune was renamed in 1959, township was changed in 1983, and town was changed in 1986. In March 2005, shihewan reform and Development Experimental Zone (sub county level, covering an area of 349.5 square kilometers) was formed with the neighboring chenlinzi town and zushimiao township.

Human history

Liji, formerly known as shangzha, was established in the spring and Autumn period and belonged to the state of Liu'an in the Qin and Han Dynasties. The Sui, Tang, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Gushi County. Li Ji was formed in the seventh year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1634); Li Ji Bao was set up in the second year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1645); Qian Zong and Shou Bei were set up in Xianfeng. On the East Bank of Shihe River, 7km north of Ji'an, Wen's surname is located on the site of the ancient city (the birthplace of Jinshi Wenqiu, governor of Jiliao in the Ming Dynasty). Wolong site

Seven kilometers away from the north of Ji'an, it is 100 meters wide from east to west and 130 meters long from north to south. Through archaeological discovery, there are traces of ash pits. Pottery pieces such as dingzu, pottery Zun and pottery pot were unearthed, which were identified as Longshan Western Zhou cultural sites;

Longgong Temple

Five kilometers southeast of Ji, it was built in the Han Dynasty and located on the East Bank of Sihu. It flourished from the Tang Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty and was destroyed in the late Qing Dynasty;

Mawang Temple

Built in the Tang Dynasty, 8 kilometers southwest of Ji'an, it has six halls on two floors and six wing rooms. It flourished in the past dynasties and was destroyed in the turmoil of the "Cultural Revolution". There are two emerald cypresses in front of the original temple gate, 160 cm thick, about 1000 years old, and a Buddhist pagoda;

Liji town was once a part of Hubei Henan Anhui Soviet Area, with a glorious revolutionary history. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the Soviet government in the East and west regions of Gushi County was established in bangedian jiaoxiaolou, 7km away from the northeast of Ji'nan, the Soviet government in the nine townships of the Second District of Huoqiu County was established in chenlingzi, 12km away from the southeast of Ji'nan, and the Soviet government in the ten townships of the Second District of Huoqiu County was established in Chenjiaci, Changxing, Southeast of Ji'nan Organize and organize the Red Army guerrillas and the red guards to strike a heavy blow against the local reactionary forces. Since the formation of the market town in the Ming Dynasty, with the advantages of Shihe shipping and land transportation, Liji has gathered merchants from all over the country and enjoyed the reputation of "Yili" (one Li, two Jiang, three Xiang Lang) and Sanhejian, which are the most prosperous shipping centers in ancient Gushi. The residents used to choose the water polder to live in, planting trees and bamboo beside the house, and raising geese and ducks, rhombus and lotus roots in the water. The local people are honest and hospitable. Men and women like to sing folk songs and Yangko. When they get married, have children and build houses, they like to sing dagushu, play shadow play and play Kezi opera. They like to run dry boats, donkeys, stilts and clams during festivals. There are also water conservancy facilities such as Bailong canal and nangan second branch canal. Historically, it is known as "the land of luxuriant forests and bamboo trees, the hometown of tongqi, peach and plum trees", and also as "little Jiangnan". It is a famous land of fish and rice.

The main mineral resources are: iron ore, yellow sand, brick and tile soil, purified water, etc.
