Lizhai town

Lizhai Town, located in the southernmost part of Yongcheng City, Henan Province, is known as the "South Gate" of Yongcheng City, adjacent to Guoyang County, Anhui Province. With a long history and convenient transportation, the town has a jurisdiction of 70.73 square kilometers (2017), a cultivated area of 65000 Mu and a total population of 34628 (2017).

With a long history and culture, there is mazhongji village, Lizhai Town, the former site of the fourth branch of the Anti Japanese military and political university founded by general Peng Xuefeng. It is composed of three parts: the school site, the school department, and the snow pomelo and white fruit trees with a history of more than 1000 years. It was announced as the first batch of cultural relics protection units by the people's Committee of Henan Province in 1963 and named as the patriotic education base of Henan Province in 2008. The xinsigou excavated by the army and the people is listed as a cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. The Party committee of Henan Anhui Soviet border region was once stationed in Dalijia village.

Historical evolution

Lizhai commune was established in 1975 and changed to township in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 72.7 square kilometers and has a population of 29000. It has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages including Lizhai, Mazhong, zenglou, Dalijia, dingtangzhuang, erlangmiao, Yuzhuang, sulijia, Chenzhuang, suqilou, suxiaozhuang, Xuzhuang, sugE, sulou, Pangzhuang, Zhizhuang, Zhangping, tanglou and Guanzhuang.

Characteristic industry

In accordance with the regional advantages, Lizhai develops characteristic agriculture, so that the production of watermelons, dried mosses and potatoes in the township will form a scale. The annual planting area will be more than 40000 mu, and the benefit per mu will exceed 1000 yuan. It has become a famous hometown of watermelon and moss. The products are exported to Beijing, Tianjin, Lianyungang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Shandong. Especially, Taigan, which is known as "Gongcai", is popular in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and other countries and regions.

In order to facilitate the export of agricultural and sideline products, Lizhai town has trained more than 200 agricultural products transportation and marketing brokers around characteristic agriculture, and set up more than 10 sales outlets in Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Inner Mongolia, Tianjin and other places, with more than 20 brokers. The characteristic agriculture of the town is increasingly entering the domestic market and entering the foreign market. There are garlic, dried moss and potato markets in spring, watermelon markets in summer, dried moss and medicinal materials markets in autumn.
