Xujiawan Township

Xujiawan township is located 46 kilometers northwest of Lushi County, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. It borders Gaoyao Town, Luonan County, Shaanxi Province, and is in the border township of "two provinces, three counties and four townships". National Highway 344 passes through the whole town, with a total area of 159.78 square kilometers (2017). It governs 8 administrative villages, 121 villager groups and 9209 people (2017). It has 7080 mu of arable land, 230000 mu of woodland and 72% of forest coverage. It is one of the key poverty alleviation and development townships in Lushi County, Gansu Province.

Historical evolution

From the end of Ming Dynasty to the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it belonged to youyili. In 1930, it was abandoned in Shuanghuaishu district. In 1942, Zhuangzi, Fengtai, Songmugou, liangmugou and Yugou on the North Bank of Luohe River were assigned to Shahe township. In 1955, the district was changed into Central Township, and the area originally assigned to Shahe still belonged to Xu family. In 1958, it belonged to guanpo commune, and xujiawan commune was established in 1976. It has been changed to township since 1983. In 1997, it covers an area of 159.7 square kilometers and has a population of 10000. It has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages including Fengtai, shiduanhe, Tongmugou, Xujia, Zhuangzi, Gangou, liangmu, Xiaohekou, Aojia, huangjiawan and songmu. In 2018, the county's administrative villages will be merged and adjusted, with 8 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the township.

Location context

Xujiawan township is located in the southwest of Lushi County. It is adjacent to guanpo town in the south, Mutong Township in the north, Shuanglongwan town in the East and Wangling Township in Luonan County, Shaanxi Province in the West. The total area of the township is 159.78 square kilometers.

The township is a deep mountain area with an average altitude of about 1200 meters.

climatic conditions

Xujiawan township has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate. It is cold in winter. The annual average temperature is 11.4 ℃, the frost free period is 148 days, and the annual precipitation is 600 ~ 700 mm. The disastrous weather is rainstorm, hail and frost.

River system

After entering the countryside from Mutong, the Luohe River winds eastward in a thousand fold Canyon to mogoukou township of Fengtai people. After entering the countryside from baihuagoukou, the guanpo river flows northward to join the Luohe River through Aojia to Xiaohekou. There are many peaks and rugged roads on both sides of the Luohe River, with up to 47 gullies and streams.

Traffic construction

the national highway 344 passes through the eastern side of the jurisdiction and is being upgraded. In the territory, a highway network with four exit highways as the main trunk roads has been formed. Every village has access to highways. More than 98% of the residents' groups also have cement roads into the group, with traffic extending in all directions.

Market town construction

in recent years, xujiawan township has raised funds from various sources to continuously improve various kinds of infrastructure: it has invested more than 40 million yuan to build 13 buildings and 260 sets of houses; it has completed the hardening project of the main roads in the central community, implemented the upgrading project of replacing roads with dams, and invested 1 million yuan to implement the reinforcement and heightening and guardrail installation project of replacing roads with dams. Red history

the revolutionary battle site of dahongyao and the revolutionary site of "Yanglou" in xujiawan Township were left over from the armed fighting with local bandits during the liberation war. The Lushi County Party committee and Lushi County People's Government of the Communist Party of China set up a revolutionary monument here in 1996. The "foreign house" revolutionary site originally belonged to the residence of local bandits.
