Gaochang town

Gaochang town is located in the central part of Xuzhou District, Yibin City, in the hilly area of southern Sichuan Basin. It is located in the two cliffs of the lower reaches of Minjiang River, Pingshan County in the west, Cuiping District in the East, wanglichang town across Minjiang River in the north, Anbian town and Xijie town in the south.

In November 2017, Gaochang town was awarded the fifth national civilized village.

Gaochang town covers an area of 97.8 square kilometers, governs 19 villages, 1 community, 208 villager groups, with a total population of 28700 (2017); the town covers 4109 mu of cultivated land (including 21456 mu of farmland, 12653 mu of soil, and 0.93 mu of cultivated land per capita for agriculture); the total grain output reaches 18056 tons, the financial income is 2.6 million yuan, and the per capita income of farmers is 1800 yuan. It is one of the pilot towns in Xuzhou district. Gaochang town has superior geographical conditions, unique geographical location, convenient transportation and communication, and is the main road of water and land transportation in Minjiang area. In the south, it is 32km away from the urban area of Yibin, 18km away from the entrance of Neiyi expressway, 25km away from the secondary civil aviation airport of Yibin, 19km away from Baixi County, and Yiping highway runs through the whole area. The town's existing village road 141 km, every village road. The town is adjacent to Minjiang River in the north, and there are two deep-water wharves beside the river, which has strong handling capacity. The main infrastructure functions such as posts and telecommunications, water, electricity, gas and closed-circuit television are increasingly supporting. Program controlled telephone and mobile communication have been put into operation; there are two water supply stations and two power stations with an annual power generation of 70kwh and two 35kV substations.

Gaochang town is mainly composed of flat, low and medium hills, with an altitude of 280-740 meters. It is a subtropical warm humid monsoon climate with mild climate, abundant rainfall and suitable illumination. The average temperature is 15.8-17.7 ℃, annual rainfall is 1100-1200 mm, annual sunlight is 958-1139 hours, frost free period is 300-342 days, and relative humidity temperature is about 80%. Northwest wind prevails throughout the year. Gaochang town is one of the main producing areas of grain, oil and pig in Yibin County with fertile land, rich products and good agricultural foundation. It mainly produces rice, wheat, corn, sorghum, beans, oranges, sugarcane, peanuts, rape, vegetables and so on. The animal husbandry of pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese and so on develops well. With the adjustment of industrial structure, the output of vegetables, fruits, tea, wood, Cinnamomum camphora and medicinal materials has gradually increased.

water conservancy

Gaochang town is rich in water conservancy and tourism resources. Huangsan Han Dynasty rock tombs, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, have been preserved in the town. Besides, Qingyun nunnery, Danshan and ten thousand mu ecological sightseeing forest are also rare tourism resources.

Economics

In the adjustment of rural industrial structure, Gaochang town closely relies on its regional and regional advantages, focusing on the development of traditional Chinese medicine, off-season greenhouse vegetables, economic fruit trees, potatoes, sericulture, meat rabbit, camphor, etc. Gaochang town is prosperous in business and market. There are eight township enterprises in the town, with an output value of 3.8 million yuan. In 2002, the town's GDP reached 89.69 million yuan, including 57.2 million yuan for the primary industry, 22.35 million yuan for the secondary industry, and 10.14 million yuan for the tertiary industry; the balance of savings deposits of urban and rural residents was 41.37 million yuan, realizing 4.56 million yuan of fiscal revenue and 2283 yuan of per capita net income of farmers. Gaochang town is one of the main production areas of grain, oil and pig in Yibin County. The town has 24568 mu of arable land and 18419 tons of grain output. Cinnamomum camphora, potato and meat rabbit are the characteristic pillar industries of the three enterprises in Gaochang town. The annual planting area of potato is 6000 mu, with an output of 20000 tons and an annual output of 500000 meat rabbits. Gaochang town has made great efforts to adjust its agricultural structure. In 2001, it established the first high standard, high-grade and high-quality "science and technology ecological park of agricultural industrialization" in the whole county. In 2002, it implemented ten major projects of developing agriculture through science and technology, and established ten demonstration areas of developing agriculture through science and technology in the whole town. Gaochang town has complete infrastructure. There are 1 vocational high school, 1 junior middle school, 20 primary schools and kindergartens, 4 hospitals, and cultural activity rooms and medical stations in every village. The construction of small towns has been started in an all-round way, and the infrastructure has been further improved.

Honorary title

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Gaochang town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.
