Wangzhu town is located in the southwest of Puyang City, under the jurisdiction of Economic Development Zone, 9 kilometers away from the city center. Tang (Yin) Pu (Yang) railway, 106 National Road across the territory, local roads crisscross. There are tieqiu site and Mazhuang site. It covers an area of 62.2 square kilometers (2017) and has a population of 50710 (2017). Wang Zhu commune was established in 1958; township was changed in 1983; and town was changed in 2011.

On July 24, 2019, Wangzhu town was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.
