Aung Jen County governs the township. In 1962, it was founded in riwuqi township. In 1970, it was changed into a commune. In 1982, it was rebuilt as a township. Located in the southwest of the county, township government in riwuqi village, 85 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 968.07 square kilometers and has a population of 5572 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 14 village committees: riwuqi, quga, yangque, Daxia, xika, nanmuqiong, Puxia, re, nierui, bore, gona, guru, Yalong and semi. In the rural areas with agriculture as the main part, highland barley, peas and rape are planted and yaks, goats and sheep are raised. Tang Dongbu (1385-1646), the architect and founder of quanba opera, was born here.
