Dahongqiao township of Wuzhi county is located on the Bank of the Yellow River, 20 kilometers away from Jiaozuo City. It is the hometown of Shantao, one of the "Seven Sages of bamboo forest" in Jin Dynasty, and the birthplace of "four Huaiyao". It covers an area of 75.73 square kilometers (2017), with 65577 mu of arable land, including 2000 mu of Yellow River beach land. evolution
It got its name from the township government in dahongqiao. In 1948, it belonged to the Fifth District; in 1955, it belonged to the five townships of dahongqiao, Xiaohong, gaoshanzuo, Wencun and Gaozhuang in the second district; in early 1958, it was merged into dahongqiao Township and later changed into dahongqiao commune; in 1983, it regained its present name. In 1997, with an area of 41 square kilometers and a population of 27000, it has jurisdiction over 24 administrative villages, namely dahongqiao, Yuezhuang, xixiaohong, dongxiaohong, siwangzhuang, xiaogaoshan, dagaoshan, nanhongqiao, Pengzhuang, Qucun, Wencun, Xiwen village, zhaobeigu, chenbeigu, libeigu, yuanbeigu, Gaozhuang East, Gaozhuang West, nangu, dongyangzhao, xiyangzhao, Dongliu village, Xiliu village and zuohou.
