Miaozhai town

Miaozhai Town, subordinate to Changyuan City, Xinxiang City, Henan Province, is located in the northeast of Changyuan city. It faces Shawo Township, Dongming County, Shandong Province across the Yellow River in the East, Lugang Township in the south, Fangli Town, menggang town and Zhaodi town in the west, and Wuqiu Township in the North. The town covers an area of 54 square kilometers, with 36800 mu of arable land. By the end of 2018, the population of Miaozhai town was 57000.

During the Anti Japanese War, it belonged to four districts of Binhe County, and after liberation, it belonged to four districts of Changyuan. In 1963, the Miao village commune was formed in the east part of the dike of pianfangli commune, and in 1983, it was changed into a township. In September 2010, the township was withdrawn to build Miaozhai town. As of October 2019, Miaozhai town has jurisdiction over 37 administrative villages.

The old village in the northeast of Miao village is the site of Changyuan county government in Yuan Dynasty.
