Historical evolution

Muzhi Street got its name from the ancient logging and water transportation. It belonged to Ruchuan town in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China. In 1948, it established the Fifth District Office of yilusong county. In 1949, it belonged to the Tenth District of Song County. It established muzhijie Township in 1956, muzhijie rocket people's commune in 1959, muzhijie block in 1961, muzhijie commune in 1963 and muzhijie Township in 1984.
