Liuyu town is located in the central and southern part of Pingyi County, with a total population of 48804 (2017) and a total area of 104.48 square kilometers. In 2006, it was rated as "the hometown of Yimeng specialty honeysuckle" by Linyi Municipal Bureau of agriculture, and honeysuckle traditional Chinese medicine market was rated as "one of the top ten wholesale markets of agricultural products in Linyi City".
