Gaocheng town

Gaocheng Town, formerly Guyang City, is located 11 kilometers southeast of Dengfeng City, Henan Province, between Songshan and Jishan, with Yinghe river running through the hinterland. According to Qianlong county annals of the Qing Dynasty, "both Yangcheng and Taishi are located in the center of Jiuzhou, and their position is very important." Here is the saying of the center of heaven and earth. Gaocheng town is 15 kilometers long from north to South and 8 kilometers wide from east to west, with an inverted "hand" shape. It has jurisdiction over 24 administrative villages, with a total area of 72.82 square kilometers and a population of 51519 (2017). In October 1998, it was designated as the "comprehensive pilot town for the reform, development and construction of small towns in the province" by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government.
