Xiaoyi Street

Xiaoyi street is located in the North West of Gongyi City, Henan Province, on the South Bank of Yiluo River. It is adjacent to Mangshan Mountain in the north and Songyue mountain in the south. Longhai Railway and Lianhuo Expressway cross the East and West. It faces Kangdian town and Heluo town across the river in the north, Xinhua Road Street and Zijing road street in the south, and Zhanjie town in the East. Xiaoyi street is rich in people, with a long history and profound cultural heritage. Famous historical and cultural sites such as Cui's ancestral hall, Xiaoyi Laoji, Arsenal, and imperial mausoleum of the Northern Song Dynasty are located here.

Xiaoyi commune was established in 1958, Chengguan town was changed in 1982, and Xiaoyi town was renamed in 1986. In 1997, it covers an area of 36.3 square kilometers and has a population of 43000. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages, including Longwei, shihuiwu, liejianggou, Nandi, Xiaogou, Qiaoshang, Xigou, Xiaonan, Xiaobei, erlipu, heyiwaigou, heyiligou and dongheishiguan. Historical overview

Xiaoyi has a long history of enriching the people. It is the hometown of Mitian where the brothers cry and live the Bauhinia tree. Heaven is moved by their spirit. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was called xiaoyili, xiaoyiyi post in Sui Dynasty, xiaoyixiang in Tang Dynasty, xiaoyibao in Song Dynasty and xiaoyizhen in Qing Dynasty. It was renamed Chengguan town in 1982, Xiaoyi town in 1986 and Xiaoyi sub district office in 2003.

Since ancient times, it has been an important place for military strategists because of its emphasis on the East and West. In 1908, Longhai railway was opened to traffic, 10 kilometers across Xiaoyi, with a railway station. In 1914, a large arms factory was built in Xiaoyi. Another ordnance branch was built in 1933. Its establishment was an important event in the history of Xiaoyi's industrial development. After the relocation of the ordnance, a large number of skilled workers were left behind, which became the talent base for today's booming industry in Xiaoyi. The cultural relics and historic sites of Xiaoyi are very considerable. They are the Guangxu Palace site in HeiShiGuan, Huiyun Temple site in Baisha, Yongzhao Mausoleum of song Renzong and Cao's Mausoleum of empress in heyigouling, yonghou Mausoleum of song Zhenzong and Gao's Mausoleum of empress in erlipuling. The tombs and stone carvings are well preserved. These historic sites are the precious cultural wealth of our nation.
