Shangqiao Town, Litong District, Wuzhong City is located in the southern suburb of the urban area. It is adjacent to QinQu in the north, balang Lake in the south, Banqiao Township in the West and guojiaqiao Township in the East. Taking national highway 211, Wenwei South Road, QinQu Road, qinqubai, Litong South Street, Youyi Road and laoche road as the trunk lines, it constructs a "three vertical and three horizontal" transportation hub network.

With an area of 13.2 square kilometers, it governs 8 administrative villages and 58 villager groups. 60% of the land area is within the urban planning area, with a total population of 25112 (2017). It is a suburban pure Hui town with strong Hui characteristics, close to the city and road, more people and less land. It has been awarded the honorary title of "the advanced fitness unit of millions of peasants" in the whole country. It was awarded the "advanced collective of Industrial Economic Census" by the people's Government of the autonomous region. It was awarded by the municipal Party committee and the government "five good" township party committees, "civilized villages and towns", "advanced collective of party conduct and honest administration", "advanced units of advanced education activities", "safe streets", and "education and strengthening rural areas reaching the standard units". The judicial institute was awarded the honorary title of "national advanced judicial institute".
