Nanwang Town, belonging to Wenshang County, Jining City, Shandong Province, is located in the southwest of Wenshang County, adjacent to KANGYI town in the East, Changgou town in the southeast, dazhanglou town and Liangbaosi town in Jiaxiang County in the southwest, Hanlong town in Liangshan County in the northwest, and Liulou Township in the Northeast, with an administrative area of 59.56 square kilometers.
The name of Nanwang village began in the Tang Dynasty; in the Song Dynasty, it was called nanwangying; in the Ming Dynasty, it was called nanwangshe; it was under the jurisdiction of quanxue township; in the Qing Dynasty, it was Xixiang; after 1912, it belonged to kaiting district; in 1931, it belonged to the third district; in May 1946, it belonged to Shushan special zone; in November of the same year, it was withdrawn from Shushan special zone, which belonged to the Sixth District of Jibei County; in 1951, it was transferred to Shushan special zone In February 1956, it was designated as the Fifth District of Jining county. In February 1956, it was designated as the South Wang District of Wenshang County. In March 1958, the South Wang District was changed to Nan Wang town in Wenshang County. In January 1958, it was changed to Nan Wang commune. In October 1983, it merged into the South Wang District with the Liu Lou commune, and the district office was stationed in Nan Wang; in February 1986, it was changed to Nan Wang town; by the end of 2018, the South Wang town had a registered residence population of 66086. There are 36 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Nanwang Er village.

History of construction
The name of Nanwang village began in the Tang Dynasty.
In the Song Dynasty, it was called nanwangying, and in the Ming Dynasty, it was called nanwangshe, which was under the jurisdiction of quanxue township.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Xixiang.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to kaiting district.
In 1931, it belonged to the third district.
In May of 1946, Shushan special zone was established. In November of the same year, Shushan special zone was removed, belonging to the Sixth District of Jibei county.
In 1951, it was designated as the Fifth District of Jining county.
In February 1956, it was designated as Nanwang District of Wenshang County.
In March 1958, Nanwang district was changed into Nanwang town of Wenshang County.
In January 1958, it was changed into Nanwang commune.
In October 1983, it merged with Liulou commune to form Nanwang District, where the district office was located.
In February 1986, it was changed into Nanwang town.
