Nanhuang town

Nanhuangcheng, a village of nanhuangcheng village committee, belongs to Penglai District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is located at the intersection of the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. Historical evolution

Nanhuang City, in history, has long been merged with Beihuang city. In Tang Dynasty, it was called Wuhu Island, and in Song Dynasty, it was called Wuhu island. The yuan and Ming Dynasties were called wuhushu, belonging to the petunia society of Penglai county. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, there were two kinds of gods, the South God and the North God. Daoguang years belong to Huangcheng community, Guangxu years built West Village and South Village. In 1928, it belonged to Huangcheng society, in 1934, it belonged to Huangcheng Town, and in 1945, it belonged to Qindao district. In 1946, it was designated as Huangcheng district from Qindao district. In 1948, it was designated as Huangcheng district. In December 2000, Nanhuang district was established. In June 2003, Nanhuang town was established.

Cliff inscriptions

The cliff stone carvings are located in the middle and upper part of the cliffs of tuofo mountain at the southern end of Nanhuang City Island. The cliff is 71.8m high and 20m wide at the bottom. The cliff surface is engraved with 9 characters of "Nanwu disaster relief and longevity extension pharmacist Buddha", whose age is unknown.

Submarine rock dam

It is located in nanchengkou of nanhuangcheng Island, about 200 meters away from the bank. The crest of the dam is about 6 meters above the water.
