Zhangjiapo town

Zhangjiapo Town, belonging to Yiyuan County, Zibo City, Shandong Province, is located in the east of Yiyuan County, bordering Yishui County in the East, Dongli town in the south, Shiqiao Town in the West and Linqu County in the north. The area is 93.2 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 27470 people registered residence.

In March 1958, some areas were divided from Dongli District and merged to establish Zhangjiapo township (commune); in December of the same year, it was merged into Dongli commune. In May 1962, Zhangjiapo commune was set off from Dongli commune. In September 1985, it was changed to Zhangjiapo township. In September 2002, the township was changed into Zhangjiapo town. In June 2020, Zhangjiapo town governs 34 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In the Western Zhou Dynasty, the territory belonged to the kingdom of Ji.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Dong'an County.

In the early Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Dong'an County, and later to Yishui County.

In Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Linqian, Linhou, Haoshan, Baoan and other communities in Yiyuan Township and Northwest Township of Yishui County.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belongs to Zhangjiapo Township, three districts of Yishui County.

In March 1958, some areas were divided from Dongli District and merged to establish Zhangjiapo township (commune); in December of the same year, it was merged into Dongli commune.

In May 1962, Zhangjiapo commune was established from Dongli commune.

In September 1985, it was changed to Zhangjiapo township.
