Erqi Street

Erqi street is under the jurisdiction of Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, located in the central and southern part of the district. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the East, Huangpu Road in the southwest and Xincun sub district, zhaojiatiao in the West and Houhu sub district, and Erqi road in the north. It covers an area of 3.91 square kilometers. 81312 people (2010), 16 communities. It now governs 14 communities. The office is located at 99 Erqi road.

The area under its jurisdiction was the site of the February 7th strike in 1923, hence its name. In 1952, it was under the people's Government of Fujian, Yongqing and Houhu. In 1954, it was changed into Fujian, Yongqing and Huangjiadun. In 1957, part of the neighborhood committees of Huangjiadun street and Yongqing street were merged into Fujian street. In 1959, the two streets of Fujian and Xincun merged to form the 27th branch of Jiang'an District People's commune. In 1961, it was abolished and the streets were restored. Fujian and Huangpu are the two districts under its jurisdiction. In 1966, Fujian street was renamed Erqi street, and Huangpu street was renamed Kangda street. In 1971, the two streets of Erqi and Kangda were merged to form Erqi Street reform committee, which was changed into Erqi Street office in 1979.

In 1996, it covers an area of 3.2 square kilometers and has a population of 66000. Geography

Erqi street is the birthplace of the 27th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It is located in the east of Jiangan District, adjacent to the Yangtze River in the East, zhaojiatiao in the West and Houhu street in the west, Huangpu street in the south, Yongqing street and Laodong street in Wuhan, and Erqi road in the north and Xincun street in the north, covering an area of 3.91 square kilometers.
