Zhegang Township

Zhegang township is located in the north central part of Poyang County, Jiangxi Province, bordering Poyang Lake in the South and Lianshan mountain in the north, reaching Jiujiang 78 km to the West and Jingdezhen 38 km to the East. Jingjiu Expressway and Jinghu highway run through nine village committees. Tongjin river passes through the territory from north to south, with convenient transportation and extending in all directions. The township has a total area of 139.3 square kilometers, cultivated land area of 46800 mu, mountain forest resources accounting for 1 / 4 of the total area of the township, water resources of 15800 mu, 17 administrative villages, 169 natural villages, 57000 people.

Local specialties

Hengxi soybean:

Hengxi belongs to zhegang township of Poyang County. The soybean produced in this area is famous for its large grain size, good color, high yield and delicious taste. It is called "Xidou". It is said that Xidou began in the late Eastern Jin Dynasty and the southern and Northern Dynasties, lasting for more than 1000 years. According to local historical records, during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, this bean was used as a tribute by the Jin Dynasty for the imperial dining room. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, "Xidou" was mainly produced in Sanfang village of Hengxi, especially in the areas of zhuobagang and zhangshuxia in Sanfang village. The yield of "Xidou" was mainly soybean, while that of black soybean was less.

Doucong, Hengxi

Sanfang village produced high-quality "bean" as raw material processing. First, squeeze the bean curd brine dry, then deep fry it in the oil pan until golden yellow, in strips, about 4cm long and 1cm wide.
