Xiangshuitan Township

Xiangshuitan township is located in the northwest of Poyang County, bordering on youdunjie town in the East, yinbaohu Township in the south, Dagang Town and Zhongguan town in Duchang County of Jiujiang City in the west, xiejiatan town and Yangzi town in Pengze County of Jiujiang City in the north. The township covers an area of 180 square kilometers, with 17 village committees, 181 village groups and 39599 permanent residents (2017).

Xiangshuitan river flows from north to south into Xihe River, the main tributary of Poyang Lake, which divides the whole town into two parts.

History and culture

Tomb of the twelve martyrs

In July 1949, thirteen strong men of a company of the second field army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army crossed the Yangtze River from Duchang to Poyang, passing by Jiushan village of Xiangshuitan. They happened to be Li Fengchun's must road army. Twelve strong men were killed and one rebelled. During the Qingming Festival in 1952, the people's Government of Xiangshuitan district (formerly the 16th district) sent people to build 12 martyrs' tombs from shixiashan of Jiushan village. In 1973, during the Qingming Festival, Xiangshuitan commune decided to move the tombs of the twelve martyrs to the present site. Today, the 15 meter high martyr's tomb tower stands high on bengke mountain in Xiangshuitan township.

Guerrilla sites in Northeast Jiangxi

When we talk about Xiao Jialing's revolutionary history, we have to mention one person first. He is a hero. Born in watershed village of xiaojialing, Yinghao, as early as 1927, actively participated in the industrial and agricultural revolution, and finally returned to the people's liberation at the cost of his life. His achievements have set up an eternal monument in the local people. In October 1928, Yinghao organized more than 50 revolutionary armed forces in xiaojialing, Pobei, to fight local tyrants and hand in guns. The revolutionary forces grew stronger and stronger. In March 1930, the number of xiaojialing guerrillas increased to more than 300, and was reorganized into the second brigade of Northeast Jiangxi guerrillas by the Northeast Jiangxi special commission. In order to eliminate the threat, the Kuomintang governments of the four counties colluded with each other, and led by Jiang Bozhang, the county magistrate of Poyang County, organized more than 1000 soldiers, police and landlord reactionary forces. On April 15, they divided into four routes and went to the xiaojialing revolutionary base. The guerrillas suffered great losses. The rest of them moved to Hukou and joined the first guerrilla brigade in Northeast Jiangxi. In June, Yinghao changed his post from deputy commander to commander, and then led the guerrillas back to the xiaojialing revolutionary base. He united with the masses of the overstocked villages and severely damaged the local reactionary armed red spear Association. At the beginning of July, when the guerrillas were working in the Hu family under Xiangshuitan, they were besieged by the county police. On the night of July 19, Yinghao was murdered by a traitor. Subsequently, the xiaojialing revolutionary base fell, and the rest of the guerrillas were transferred and incorporated into the red ten army.

Yongchang temple in Huangjinshan

Yongchang temple is located in the east foot of Huangjin mountain. There are ancient temple ruins, grotesque boulders and bushes. There are more than ten caves. The cave under piaoshui rock is the most spacious. Five people can enter the cave in parallel, and the narrower it gets. The width of the cave is about 30 meters deep, and then it turns into a small cave. Only one person can climb in. No one can explore it for the time being. It's said that it's related to the mountain The caves in other parts of the mountain are connected, and there are inland rivers and karst caves inside the mountain, which need to be explored by later generations to draw a real conclusion.

Golden Mountain

Located at the junction of the three counties of Du popeng, Xiangshuitan township (tanjiayanwo Village) in Poyang, Jiangxi Province, it stretches more than 30 Li in a north-south direction, surrounded by pingchou, shuipo and hills. on the top of the mountain, there are monuments and stone trenches left by bandits after liberation. This mountain has not been developed for artificial tourism. It belongs to the original eco-tourism resort and is an ideal place for mountaineers. However, due to the deforestation in modern times, the ancient trees of the original forest no longer exist. On the hillside 200 meters up the mountain from Xiangshuitan YANWO village, there was a temple called "Yongchang Temple" thousands of years ago. During the suppression of sects in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the temple was destroyed because of its high reputation in ancient times. Before 2013, it was all ruins.
