Shandang Town, subordinate to Le'an County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Le'an County, adjacent to Gongxi town in the East, Huxi town in the southeast, Huxi town and Gongfang town in the south, Gongfang town in the southwest, West and northwest, Jiaokeng town in Fengcheng City in the North and Ma'an town in Chongren County in the northeast. With an area of 138 square kilometers, the town governs 13 administrative villages and 1 community, with a total of 122 village groups. In late 2018, Shan Dang Town had 25 thousand and 600 registered residence population, and the whole Han nationality was right.

Shandang town's economic industry is mainly tobacco leaf, supplemented by Camellia oleifera, seedlings, vegetables and animal husbandry. In 2019, the gross output value of Shandang town will reach 710 million yuan and the fiscal revenue will reach 7.577 million yuan.

Historical evolution

During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1862-1874), it belonged to the 28th capital of ganquanli and the 31st and 32nd capital of bashanli in Tianshu township.

During the period of the Republic of China (1912-1949): it successively belonged to Gongxi, hangqiao, Tongjiang and Gongfang townships.

In March 1956, Shandang township was established; in 1958, Shandang people's commune was established; in 1959, Shandang commune was abolished, and its brigade and production team were assigned to Gongxi commune and Gongfang commune respectively; in October 1961, Shandang commune was restored and stationed in Shandang village; in August 1968, Shandang commune was abolished and incorporated into Gongfang commune; in February 1980, Shandang commune was set up and stationed in Liufang village In May 2005, the commune was removed and the township was changed.

In March 2001, the township was withdrawn to build a town; in April 2001, with the approval of Jiangxi Provincial People's government, hangqiao Township, which borders on the northwest, was withdrawn and incorporated into Shandang administrative region.

Shandang town has a maximum distance of 11.3 km from east to west and 17.5 km from north to south, with a total area of 138 square kilometers. The land area is 135.87 square kilometers, accounting for 98.46%; the water area is 2.13 square kilometers, accounting for 1.54%.

The origin of place names

At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, when the longyikang family moved here to open the foundation, a bird circled and called "shandangshandang", so it was named Shandang.
