Mengshan Town, subordinate to Mengshan County, Wuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the east of Guangxi. It is a national key town. It is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of Mengshan county. It is a big town integrating agriculture, industry, commerce and trade. Mengshan town governs 8 administrative villages, 188 villager groups, 4 community neighborhood committees, 11 natural streets and 123 resident groups, with a total population of 58456 in 2017.

Mengshan town is the ancient Yongan prefecture (the place where the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was established and the hometown of Liang Yusheng, a famous martial arts novelist). Today, Mengshan county is located, 146 kilometers away from Guilin City, a world-famous tourist city with beautiful scenery in the north, 186 kilometers away from Wuzhou City, known as the "water gateway of Guangxi" in the south. National Highway 321 and Meijiang river run through the north and south of the town, and there are secondary highways leading to Liuzhou and Guilin And Wuzhou City.

In 2000, the total value of industry and agriculture in Mengshan town reached 620 million yuan, an increase of 60.2% compared with 1995. Among them, 553 million yuan of township enterprises, an increase of 58.90%; and 73.29 million yuan of total agricultural output value, an increase of 89%. The average annual growth rate of farmers' per capita income was 15.7%. In 2000, the per capita net income of farmers was 2369 yuan, an increase of 87.9% compared with 1995. Mengshan town focuses on agricultural development, with rice, sweet potato and soybean as the main food crops, and sugarcane, fruit, mulberry garden, peanut and vegetables as the main cash crops. The production of high quality grain, sugarcane, silkworm, fruit, vegetable and pig is the six pillar industries of agriculture in Mengshan town. At present, the area of sugarcane is 2069.2 mu, and the output of raw sugarcane is expected to reach 10346 tons; the area of mulberry garden is 5000 mu, and the annual output of fresh cocoon is 750 tons; the area of orchard is 2400 mu, mainly including Shatian pomelo, citrus, orange, peach, plum, persimmon, chestnut, banana, grape and more than 20 varieties, with an annual output of 579 tons. Mengshan town has a forest area of 57000 mu, and the greening standard rate is 95.2%. The main forest species are pine, fir, eucalyptus, tung oil tree, Camellia oleifera, cinnamon, star anise, bamboo and other timber forests and economic forests. The forest by-products are extremely rich, with an annual output of 300 tons of pine resin, edible fungi such as Auricularia auricula, Lentinus edodes, Poria cocos, Shajiang and various kinds of medicinal materials.

The first primary school of Mengshan town is located on the Bank of the beautiful Meijiang river, adjacent to the New Development Zone in the south of the city and facing the Aoshan Pagoda with a long history.

Founded in 1910, the school was originally Chengnan school, and later changed to Chengxiang Central Primary School. At the beginning, there were only three teachers, less than 100 students.
