Guantao Township

Guantao township is located in the western mountain area of Wu'an city, at the junction of two provinces (Hebei, Shanxi) and three counties (Wu'an, Shexian, Zuoquan), with a total area of 188 square kilometers. The township is rich in tourism resources. The scenic spot of liejiang Chaoyang Valley has been opened to the outside world. The former sites of Chaoyang lake, Yongning lake, Longfeng Mountain, Lianggou Eighth Route Army Arsenal and Huangzhuang Xinhua news agency are under development.

Guantao Township governs 38 administrative villages and 108 natural villages, with a permanent population of 18270 people (in 2017), 11000 men and women working as a whole, and 15477 mu of cultivated land, including 3110 mu of water land and 12367 mu of dry land, with 0.8 mu per capita. Due to the lack of underground resources, few enterprises on the ground and relatively backward economic conditions, the per capita income in 2005 was 2035 yuan. Guantao township is an old revolutionary base area. During the Anti Japanese War, the 129th division of the Eighth Route Army was the first to pursue the troops. Lianggou Arsenal, Huangzhuang Taihang Xinhua Daily, liejiang Bethune hospital and Chanfang Anti Japanese university were stationed in the township. The first rural Party branch of Wu'an was born in baicaoping village. Peng Dehuai, Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping and other revolutionaries of the older generation have lived and fought here forever. A large number of people with lofty ideals, represented by Qu Jianbai, the younger brother of Qu Qiubai, a proletarian revolutionist, shed their last drop of blood on Guantao's land.

The township is rich in tourism resources. The scenic spot of liejiang Chaoyang Valley has been opened to the outside world.
