Zuoba town
Zuoba town is located in the northwest of Dayu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The area is 97.85 square kilometers (2018), and the registered residence population is about 8 thousand and 500 (2018). It has 1 communities and 4 administrative villages (2019). There is the most ancient Hakka walled house in Gannan, Cao's.

Historical evolution
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Yunshan pass.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was the hometown of Zuo Buddhism.
On the eve of liberation, it belongs to Yunshan township.
At the beginning of liberation, Zuoba Township and Dajiang Township belonged to the second district.
In the autumn of 1958, it belonged to Liaoyuan commune.
In 1959, it belonged to Qinglong commune.
In 1961, Zuoba commune was established by Qinglong commune.
In the winter of 1968, Piaotang town was merged.
In 1972, Piaotang town was separated.
In May 1984, it was changed to Zuoba township.
In May 2000, Piaotang town and Zuoba Township were abolished and merged to form Zuoba town.

Zuoba town is located in the northwest of Dayu County, with Zhangdou town in the northeast, Qinglong Town in the southeast and Huanglong town in the southwest. Yunshan in the northwest borders Chongyi county. The total area is 97.85 square kilometers.

Zuoba town residents use Hakka language in xinpian Dayu dialect.
Cao's enclosure
Cao's enclosed house in Dayu county is located in a small basin about one kilometer west of Zuoba town government. It is a large Hakka enclosed house. It was built in 1564, the 43rd year of Jiajing period in Ming Dynasty. The enclosed house is surrounded by a three meter high dry base wall, forming an irregular circle, with a total area of 50000 square meters and a construction area of 40000 square meters. There are about 40 yards and 500 rooms in the enclosure. The whole building complex of the enclosed house is surrounded by the dry base wall, and the front and back doors are built with lofts, which is magnificent, thus forming a typical pattern of Hakka residential complex in southern Jiangxi. Most of the people living in Cao's enclosed houses are Hakkas of Cao's family name, with a total of more than 700 people. On November 18, 2014, Yunshan village, where Cao's house is located, was selected into the third batch of Chinese traditional villages list by the "seventh department of the CPC Central Committee", which has been listed as a national protection unit.
