Saihu farm is located in the east of Ruichang City, adjacent to Gangkou Street Town, Chaisang District, Jiujiang City in the East, Changhe River in the south, Xintang Township, Chaisang District, Jiujiang City across the river, old urban area of Ruichang City in the West and Guilin sub district office of Ruichang City in the North. It covers 21.63 square kilometers, 708 hectares of arable land and 866 hectares of water area.

Established in October 1950, the farm was originally a reform through labor farm directly under the central government of Jiangxi Provincial Public Security Department.
