Duchang Town, subordinate to Duchang County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southeast of Jiujiang City, southwest of Duchang County, on the Bank of Poyang Lake, bordering Dashu Township and wangdun Township in the East, Yongxiu county and Lushan city in the southwest across Poyang Lake, and Beishan Township in the north. Since 1958, it has been the political, economic and cultural center of Duchang County. The area is 69.10 square kilometers. In 2018, the number of registered residence in Duchang town was 123809. By 2019, Duchang town has jurisdiction over 11 communities and 4 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 45 industrial enterprises in Duchang Town, including 18 Enterprises above Designated Size and 108 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was divided into ten districts, and then into thirteen districts.
In 1956, it was adjusted to Beishan district.
In 1958, the district was withdrawn, and the former Chengguan Town, Jishan Town, Nanshan Township and Beishan Township in Beishan district were merged into Chengdu Changzhen town.
In 1959, it was renamed the people's commune of Duchang town.
In 1962, Jishan and Nanshan people's communes were separated from the people's commune of Duchang town.
In 1968, it was merged into the people's commune of Duchang town.
In 1972, it was divided into two people's communes, Duchang town and suburb.
In 1975, it was merged into the people's commune of Duchang town.
In 1984, it was changed from commune to Duchang town.

Duchang Town, located in the southwest of Duchang County, is the resident of Duchang County Government. It borders Dashu Township and wangdun Township in the East, Yongxiu county and Xingzi County in the southwest across Poyang Lake, and Beishan Township in the north. The land area is 33.8 square kilometers (excluding the area of Duchang water area of Poyang Lake), and the regional area is 69.10 square kilometers.

Qingyin Temple
The original name of Qingyin temple was Qingyin temple, which was built in Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in Song Dynasty. Qingyin temple is located in the middle of the south mountain. In the corridor beside the temple, there is a stone tablet. The tablet is called "records of Qingyin Temple", which is the authentic calligraphy of Huang Tingjian, a famous writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. Su Shi and Su Zhe brothers visited the elder and wrote poems.
