Gangkou Street Town

Ganggangjie town is a town under the jurisdiction of Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is located in Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, with superior geographical conditions. It is close to the Yangtze River and Saicheng lake. It is located in the industrial economic belt along the Yangtze River. JIURUI Avenue runs through the whole area, with Lushan Mountain in the East and Ruichang Gold Industrial Park in the West.

Historical evolution

It got its name from the old port. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to the fourth district. In 1951, it was changed into the port district. In 1958, it was established as the port commune. In 1983, it was renamed as xixinqiao commune. In May 1984, it was changed into xixinqiao township. In 1993, it was withdrawn from the township to establish the port street town. In 1997, it covers an area of 57.7 square kilometers and has a population of 22000. It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages and neighborhood committees of market towns, including xixinqiao, Gangkou, Futang, Dingjiashan, Shengli forest, Huayuan, liucang, Chaling, wangjiapu and Baihua temple.

Economic overview

The economy of Gangkou Street developed rapidly. In 2005, the fiscal revenue was 3.58 million yuan, and the per capita income of farmers was 3.273 yuan. Xu Yuanming, male, Han nationality, born in 1971, is a member of group 14 of Gangkou village, Gangkou Street Town, Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. He is now the president of Gangkou Street strawberry vegetable professional cooperative. In 1997, Xu Yuanming went to work in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. In 2001, he returned to his hometown to start a business and found that planting strawberries was a good way to get rich, so he devoted himself to studying strawberry planting technology. After 10 years of development, Xu Yuanming has become a famous strawberry grower.

He got rich, but he didn't forget everyone. He wanted to drive the villagers to get rich together. In December 2010, with the help of the local government, he initiated and established the strawberry vegetable professional cooperative in ganggangjie Town, which was composed of 8 farmers voluntarily. After Xu Yuanming became the president of the cooperative, he organized growers to study in Changfeng County, Anhui Province, changed the traditional way of planting strawberries, and improved the double film mulching technology. At the same time, new strawberry varieties such as Fengxiang, Xuemi and Zhangji were introduced to improve the grade and quality of the products, and the benefit also increased. The gross income was 20000 yuan per mu before.

Xu Yuanming also paid attention to brand strategy, registered the "all red" trademark for his strawberries, and sold them to Liansheng supermarket and paramount supermarket. The supply of strawberries produced by cooperatives is in short supply. During the Spring Festival, Xu Yuanming's sales revenue has reached 140000 yuan, while the cooperative has reached more than 3 million yuan.

"Now production alone is not good, there should be diffusion industry, so I vigorously develop suburban agricultural tourism and leisure base." Ganggangjie strawberry base is located in the core of Chima plate, near Ganghu Avenue, with convenient transportation. Xu Yuanming publicized and promoted port strawberries through various channels, and achieved obvious results. There is an endless stream of guests coming to pick strawberries.
