Xiage town

Xiage Town, belonging to Zhao'an County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, is located in the northwest of Zhao'an County, connecting guanpi town in the East and North, Taiping Town in the south, Hongxing Township in the southeast, Raoping County in Guangdong Province in the southwest, Xiuzhuan town and lingxiaxi forest farm in the northwest. In 2017, the area was 80.52 square kilometers with a permanent population of 37556. By 2019, Xiage town has 10 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

Ming Dynasty belongs to the eighth and ninth pictures of the second capital.

In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Xiage District, the second capital in the late Qing Dynasty. It had jurisdiction over Huacha, Dayuan, Nanpi, Tiannan, Xiaxi, Jingkou, Zhuangshang, etc.

In 1930, it belonged to the Sixth District.

In 1940, it was reorganized and divided into Xiage Township, the third district.

In 1945, Pingge township was removed from the District, with jurisdiction over Wutong, Tiehua, Fenglin, Nanpi, Shihe, Yuanzhong, Xinying, Baiye, Kexia, Maliao, etc.

In 1950, it belonged to the Fifth District.

In 1951, it was incorporated into the Sixth District of guanpi.

In 1960, it belonged to the people's commune in the upper reaches of the river, and later it was renamed guanpi people's commune.

In 1987, the village was established from guanpi.

In February 1992, it was changed into a town.
