Xianjia town

Xianjia town is adjacent to Nan'an and Anxi. Because it is located in the western direction of Hushan, most of the water in China flows eastward, but the water here flows westward, so it is called "westward".

On June 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of provincial rural governance demonstration towns.

General situation of villages and towns

Xianjia town is located in the south of Yongchun County, 16 kilometers away from the county in the northeast. It has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages. The town government is stationed in duzhailong. Hu (Shan) Feng (Hua) highway transit. With more than 20000 overseas Chinese, Yongchun is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese.

Xianjia town governs 8 administrative villages, including Jiaji, Dongli, meizhai, Detian, Longshui, Longmei, Shanhou and Longhu. There are 89 villager groups and 51 natural villages with a population of 9523 (2017).

Historical evolution

During the song and Qing Dynasties, it was subordinate to the twelve capitals of anpingli, Jiqing township. After the founding of new China, it successively belonged to the Fifth District, the eighth district and Hushan district. In 1958, it belonged to Hushan commune. In 1961, it was set up Xianjia commune. In 1984, it was changed to Xianjia Township, and in 2001, it was changed to Xianjia town.

Xianjia is a mountain valley with a high altitude of 500-700 meters. The climate is cool and humid, and the temperature is 2-4 degrees lower than that of the county. One third of the people in the town are engaged in agriculture, labor services, and rely on the support of their relatives.

There are few kinds of mineral resources in the town. It has been found that the purple sand soil and magnetic soil in Detian village need to be mined. There are eight small hydropower stations in the town, with a total installed capacity of 1200 kW.

Xianjia is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in Yongchun. Overseas Chinese have a long history and are mainly distributed in 11 countries and regions, such as the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. Xianjia overseas Chinese love their motherland and care about the construction of their hometown. They have made positive contributions to the development of Yongchun and Xianjia. In 2001, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town was 600000 yuan, including 290000 yuan of agricultural output value, 310000 yuan of industrial output value, 460000 yuan of township enterprises output value, 410 tons of grain output, 1240 tons of fruit output, 960 tons of Citrus output, 2100 yuan of per capita net income of farmers, 390000 yuan of total financial income of the town. In agriculture, it mainly grows grain and oranges. In edible fungi base, there are a large number of Moso Bamboo in Longhu, Longmei, Longshui and other villages. In industry, there are antique factories and power stations.

Characteristic products

Lacquer basket is a traditional product of Yongchun. During the Zhengde period of Ming Dynasty (1506-1522), Longshui painters began to produce paint baskets. Later, there were more than 100 kinds of paint baskets. The production of paint baskets required more than 30 processes, such as blank making, boiling, tung oil, cloth mounting and painting. The baskets were elegant, simple, dignified, acid resistant, alkali resistant and durable. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1736-1795), Guo Xiaoyang of Longshui and others began to go out to make bamboo baskets. More than 100 people, including Guo Yongsheng, set up shops in the county, Wuli street, Quanzhou, Jinjiang, Anxi and other places. In 1801, Yongchun lacquer baskets began to be sold to Nanyang ports.

Mustard is also a special product of Xianjia. Because Xianjia has high terrain, cool and moist climate, and fog all the year round, the mustard produced by Xianjia is sweet and tender, and the masses have the habit of planting mustard, so Xianjia mustard enjoys a high reputation in the whole county. In 1999, meizhai villager Chen Tengren, with the help and support of the town government, gave full play to the advantages of Xianjia mustard with high yield and high reputation, and founded tengan vegetable factory. The series of products such as dried mustard and taro are exported to more than 10 cities in Southeast Asia and China.
